We all know that PL clubs are trying to move away from a "legacy" ST model and bring in one-off/ occasional fans who spend on merchandise and can be charged more per ticket. The conspiracy theory would be to see Murrayfield as a move in that direction.
We travel from Sheffield. A 5 hour round trip on good days. Those midweek winter games were tough going. We didnโt go to Qarabag at home just to have a break from traffic jams on various motorways. How would Edinburgh work for the likes of us? There must be a sizeable number who travel to Newcastle. Weโre going in August but making a mini break of it via Berwick. But Edinburgh every other week?? We just canโt do it. Would we be penalised as season ticket holders for not attending enough games? Lots to think about, lots to consider. And the least they could do is give us the loyalty point.
But for your info, British Politics has been stuck in silly season since at least the middle of the last decade.
I was wondering though. If we have to play our home games at Murrayfield, will that mean us having to play with the same type of ball? It could do wonders for our passing ability... ๐
Mind, really, I don't think we should worry. I'm almost never right, so statistically I must be right this time; I reckon the Club will do the sensible thing and build a new 68,485-seater stadium in Leazes Park. I hope that puts your mind at rest. ๐
I travel up from York. I was shattered, skint and pissed off during that run of games at home. I can tell you now, thereโs no way Iโd attend every home game up there. Or would I. Good few wins, bit of momentum and who am I kidding. Certainly not me missus who probably wouldnโt be there one or would be but with changed locks.
Good to read and a tiny bit worrying. Thanks for Millsing it over, Scott - silly season indeed.
Ps, Iโm sure itโs obvious and Iโm being thick but why only 18 games plus cup?
I lived in Edinburgh for 20 years and believe me the corduroy, Land Rover driving ,egg chasers who run the city would never sanction thousands of visiting English football fans every other week. And god forbid you actually have a few pints and start to enjoy yourself. Enjoyment is frowned upon there
I remember coming back from Celtic last summer, we had to change at Waverley.. couple of pints thinks our small group...not likely says large police line kettling us onwards to Newcastle. They wouldn't let us leave the station !

Excellent, Scott!

Also Iโd love to see the Job Description for โPeople Officerโ ๐
HR
Yeah, I was thinking that myself, only in a more eloquent manner, i.e. 'What the fuck is a People Officer?'

Well that was an unfortunate autocorrect, wasn't it!

Completely true. Beautiful coty but of there's more than two in a group seeking a pint you're looked at like you're asking for eternal life.
I think Man U played they're last year, so probably not a try out.
Parking a nightmare and very expensive.
Stadium views are fine and no harder to have a pish than St James'
The main road is shut for a spell after the rugby, cannot see them wanting to do that another 20 odd more times a year for us.

It's not, no.
