I think Pope gives the striker a different decision to make. I hoped Dubs would come out but you saw him back off, then it was just a question of if the striker had the quality to lob.
If Schär gives the ball away with familiar regularity, which he does; does nothing to shore up the yawning chasm at the back, which he does; and has such little pace, why is he in the team? Trippier gets pelters for misjudging a through ball, but in fairness to him he was nowhere near his right full back position, he was desperately trying to cover for the missing Schär yet again. He might not have had the greatest game, but lay the first goal on Schär not Trippier.
I don't accept Dubs is blameless for the first 2 especially when he's keeping Pope out of the team.
Pope plays higher up and would have been closer for goal 1 and would probably have got a hand to goal 2.

No Tripps saw the ball and decided he could go wrong side and win it.
Bad decision.
I didn’t expect much, but that was considerably less than that. This team is so inconsistent. City are still a top team and I fear we are 6-8.
"but if you're going to point out empty home seats, you probably need to stay till the end yourselves" - spot on, MP.
