It’s like being in The Matrix. Everyone can do/spend as they like for years (using preposterous accounting and mega rich legal teams). Then there’s a glitch and Newcastle arrive to disrupt the equilibrium. Agent Smith (EPL/Masters) decides he’s not having some back water, northern antagonist at the top table and deploys all means to stop any uprising.
It does at times, genuinely feel like we are cursed.
Just thinking about value for money, in this case three strikers/wingers for the price of one, is Justin Kluivert not being considered? Aside from being an excellent player, the family and emotional ties are oft overlooked in modern football. I think Eddie through his career spots this. Patrick (who still calls us “we” coz of his brief glamorous period in a failing side) would be a regular in the Irish Centre, that’s for sure. One of my favourite stories, and it’s true coz I was there, is Kluivert signing for us because of the brilliant reception he was afforded, not knowing us from Adam, when he was substituted for Barca. He didn’t forget it. There’s a lot riding on emotion in football. Things coming full-circle and that. Especially when the lad I’m on about is an absolute cracker of a player. I remember saying to the lad next to me ahead of the Bournemouth game, “I think Kluivert’s a lovely player.” Then he scored a hat-trick against us and I didn’t find him very lovely at all that weekend!:)
Wouldn’t it be good though? He grew up a Newcastle fan, and ticks ALL of the boxes for that wing-forward/fill-in CF we’re after! I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this sooner.
Oh yeah, and this is just for Michael- if he’s running out of ideas for Saturday morning check out the new red pepper and feta bake at a well-known culinary outlet. Ooh!:) Yes indeed.

A very good read Andy. It helps a lot.
Also, thanks for trying to explain the Vlachodimos purchase. It's still beyond me though.
Great piece Andy what time should I set my alarm for on Tuesday?
